M 47 Patton and S.A.S Land Rover 'Pink Panther'

Hi everybody!
I still don't have the photos for the step-by-step post so I'm talking about the M47 Patton and the S.A.S Land Rover I have.
First is the Land Rover. Its full name is S.A.S Land Rover 'Pink Panther'. I'm not all that sure why it's called the Pink Panther but what I do know is it's 1/35 scale. It's meant to have a driver on the drivers seat, but as you may know from other posts, I hate painting the people. I'll show you the driver when he's done.

  

Next is the M 47 Patton. I made that a while ago.

It's 1/35 scale too. There isn't really anything else to say about this one, so here it is.

Russian Kv-1 and armoured car

Hi everyone.

As you know I'm taking you through how I make my models.
But because I haven't completed enough of it to do another post I'll be telling you all about my Russian Kv-1 and armoured car.
First is the Russian Kv-1.
This was one of the first 1/35 scale models I made. When I made this I had a lot of help from  Dad because of my young age. The KV-1 was made by Trumpeter and I'm pretty sure it's a Super Heavy Turret version. We painted to look like the box art and weathered it to an extent.               

Next is my Russian armoured car made by Zvezda (a Russian company).
It is also 1/35 scale. I made this one this year sometime and again, wanted it to look like the box art. I didn't weather this one for it was made to look like it had just came out of the tank factory (if that's what they're called)

Next time I do another post it'll be either the Step-by-Step post or another few of my tanks.

Sherman MK.III (part 1)

Hi everybody.
Over the next few posts I'll be taking you through how I make my models and what I use to do so.
I'll be using my Sherman MK.III in 1/35 scale as the model.
That's the box it came in. Notice the detail on the box art.
I'll start to run you through the tools that I'd usually use to complete the building stage of the model. On the left is my MMD fast drying Green Putty. I use it to fill in all the unwanted holes in the model, to give it texture or to act as weathering. The second on the left is a file then some super glue. It's meant to be fast drying, but it seems to take forever. For more instant results your meant to mix Talcom powder in. Next is my Non-toxic Liquid cement. That's just average model glue. My 2 knives/scalpels are next. One's a fine small blade while the other is bigger. Then there's another file and some really cool tweezers.

In case you don't know how all of the parts come in a box, here is a picture of the basic parts and more detailed parts including decals and tracks.

 

So far I've made most of the lower hull and wheels.

  I'll make a new post when I've done a decent amount of work.

My other 2 Matchbox models

As promised, I'm posting my 2 Matchbox models Today.

I finally received my 2 models I bought off ebay. I finished them 2 days ago, so here they are.
First is the Churchill Bridge Layer Tank. It's 1/76 scale and was a pretty-good build.
I had some trouble connecting the bridge to the Tank with the wire. I think it doesn't look all that realistic because of the fact the wire isn't pulled out straight. If you're wondering why I think this, it's because with the real thing, when pulling the bridge up or down, it would have been pulled really tight. Mine however isn't tight and that's why I don't like it. You may have noticed that I like being really precise with my latest models. Anyway, here is the Churchill.

Now you know about that, I'll tell you about the Char bis and Renault that I also got from ebay.
They're both in the same kit and in 1/76 scale. I really like this kit because of the large base and the 4 people it came with. Once all of the pieces were glued and painted, I glued the tanks and people onto the base. I think it looks really good once it's all together and i'm pretty happy with detail and realisticness.

Matchbox Humber Amoured Car 5th Royal Tank Regiment

Hiya everybody.
Sorry about the long wait, but I'm doing another post before next year. I may post my other birthday stuff here later but for now i'm going to talk about my new model in 1/76 scale. It's called a Humber armoured car, 5th Royal Tank Regiment made by Matchbox. I don't know the exact date the model was made, but what I do know is that it was made sometime before 1986. I found it in a water-damaged box in the shed and decided to try to make it. It turned out to be one of the best 1/76 scale models i've done (make that one of the best models i've done overall)! You may not be able to tell it but I weathered it all, applied a wash, drybrushed it, painted it with acrylic, enamel and water-based paint, applied the transfers and then stuck the man to the tank, and the tank to the base. the picture may not show all of the detail, but it looks really good when it's in front of you.
I now want to collect and make all of the matchbox 1/76 scale tanks and have just bought 2 from ebay.com.

Star Wars stash - AT-TE, AT-AP & General Grevious' Starfighter

 

 

 

For my birthday I was very lucky and got lots of things. In this post i'm going to show you the Star Wars things I received. Firstly, is my AT-TE (above). I got this from Mum, Dad and Bella. It stands for All Terrain Tactical Inforcer. The Rear opens up and reveals room for up to 20 clone troopers. The front opens up and reveals room for 1 clone Pilot and the middle interior opens to reveal room for 5 clone troopers.

 

 

Next is the AT-AP, which stands for All Terrain Attack Pod. I got this From Kama, Harry, Oscar and Bonnie. In the top image the middle leg is folded up for scout mode and in the bottom image all three legs are down changing it to Recon mode. The middle opens up revealing 2 seats for 2 clone scouts in phase 2 armour.

 

Last but not least by a mile is General Grievous' starfighter. One of my nans gave me some money to spend, so being obsessed with star wars and general grievous, I found his starfighter. 

I shall post other stuff soon, so what ever you do, keep checking!

My Star Wars birthday cake

 

As you know it was my birthday on the 9th. On the following day I had a barbacue and invited some of my family. We had the cake at the end of it all ( instead of for my birthday ). I wanted a plain vanilla cake and mum suggested to get it from a cake shop called a piece of cake. I agreed and then had to choose an image to be transfered onto the top. Days went by and being obsessed with General Grievous, I wanted an image with him included. I found one but mum said it reminded her too much of the Grim Reeper. On the final day that it had to be in by, I found an image of a clone trooper in phase 1 armour sitting in an AT-RT. We sent it in and picked it up not many days later. Here are some close-up images of it.

 

 

It was beautiful!

Anker Stones

Today is my birthday.  I got some Anker Stones from Mum and Dad.  They're cool.  This post is purely about them and I'll do another post on my birthday later.

Anker stones are made by hand using natural materials - chalk, quartz sand, colour pigments and linseed oil.  They were first made in 1880 and are quite heavy.  They come in a really nice wooden box.

  

The set I have is the basic building set 6.

Our Christmas

 

I hope everybody had a good Christmas!  This is Bella (my sister) with me on Christmas day.  I was very spoilt at Christmas time and here are some of my favourite presents:

 

This is my hippopotamus that Mum and Dad gave me and my mad dog that my Nan Marion made for me.

 

This is one of my favourite presents....a lego trade federation MTT (Star Wars).  It took ages to build and it is real cool.

 

This is an Endor AT-AT that I got from big old Saint Nick.  Now I have two of these and I need three more Hoth ones for my collection (note the need, not want).

 

My Nan Marion knitted the gloves and they're real warm.  Bella gave  me the Dangerous Book for Boys magic trick kit and now I know some magic tricks.  I also got a torch from Auntie Beth and it's cool and works well.  I also got some books and electronic games.

 

These are another favourite present out of everything.  I got the S.A.S. landrover from my Nan and Pop and Fred gave me the German half track which is limited to 5000 pieces world wide.

 

The bug on the right hand side was to add to my bug collection that I'm working on.  I really love bugs and I want to put them all over the house.  Mum hates them and she won't let me get a spider one because it will freak her out.

 

This is something that I've been getting every year from Nan and Pop since 2005 - The Guinness World Record Book.  It's kind of a tradition now.

 

I also got these Star Wars people.  Now I have 41 various storm troopers for my collection.

Then on boxing day we all got up early and went camping.  Mum and Dad's two friends came too and their names are Nick and Bowser.  We only just got back, it was fun!

 

This is Bella and I toasting marshmellows.

 

As shown here you can see my bike (the little red one), Bella's bike (litle blue one behind mine).  Dad's and Nick's (the two orange ones) and then Bowsers (the blue one).  We crashed lots.

 

The tent we bought a few days before Christmas turned out to be a disaster with every bit breaking, ripping and blowing away.  As you can see we had to hold the tent up by using Dad's car.  My highlights from our camping trip were:

Being allowed to have McDonalds (Mum & Dad never let us have that anymore)

Eating marshmellows

Watching the tent blow over on Mum and Bella.

Watching Bella freak out at the huntsman spider.

Laughing at Nick when his tent fell down.

Going dirt bike riding.

Poking the fire.

Watching Trooper swim when Dad pushed him into the river.
