Little Etsy update

I popped a couple of little Blythe cardigans in my Etsy store a moment ago.  I have more to list, but ran out of time to photograph them.  Hopefully tomorrow afternoon!

Etsy store update

Hello!  I've just popped some crochet doll/teddy blankets into my Etsy store.  There are only a few so far, but hopefully more to come soon.

I've also included a couple of Blythe quilts in store as well.  More of those coming soon too :)

A little Etsy store

I've been busy over the last week, crocheting a few goodies to update my Etsy store that has been sitting empty for nearly two years.  Eek!

I'm using 8 ply pure wool and have worked my way through nearly three dolly blankets so far.  They're quite relaxing to do and a nice way to fill in the night time hours, when I'm usually watching t.v. or thinking about what to blog about next.

There are some itty bitty Blythe blankets on the go too.  I need to crochet one of these up for my little niece (Bonnie) this week - she's turning five soon and hoping to receive her very first Blythe doll. While I'm talking Blythe dolls, I've had lots of questions lately about them lately and where to buy them from.  I'm planning to do a blog post with all the details this week!

Well, I'd better get back to this crochet business :)

Oh, hello there

Is it wrong to keep something you've bought specifically as a gift for yourself? I think not.

You see,  a couple of weeks ago I ordered a pair of hand knitted socks from Etsy and today they arrived. I don't think I've owned any hand knitted socks before, but when I opened the package there was a whole heap of ooh-ing and ahh-ing going on - they were so beautiful, soft and had the sweetest smell.  I had to slip one on carefully to see how well they fitted and then before I knew it I was slipping the other one and keeping them for myself.

 

They are so, so good.  If you haven't ever felt hand knitted socks on your little tootsies before, then I urge you to do it soon.

P.S. I have a question for you today! Something that I've been curious about for a while now, but haven't got around to asking.  How many posts per day do you like to see on a blog??  I'm thinking of squeezing in two posts a day (on some days), but don't want to overload my readers.  I'd love to know your thoughts :)

The Stitched Bluebird

I'm popping back in to tell you about an awesome new Etsy store that my lovely friend Janelle Wind has just opened - The Stitched Bluebird.  

I've attempted to blog about Janelle's new store several times now, but every time I start a blog post her store pretty much sells out!  I'm trying to get in quick today as she has just re-stocked :)

If you're a Blythe lover (we are!!) you'll find the most adorable Blythe clothes, all beautifully sewn with such love and care.  We have quite a few little outfits from Janelle's store now and they are so, so gorgeous.

Apart from Blythe clothes, there are a lovely selection of ipod/iphone pouches and journal covers (you'll have to be super quick for those - they sell reeeeally fast) and from time to time you'll find other ready made items from Janelle's patterns.

I bought some Heather Bailey felt last week (since the exchange rate is so good) as a treat for my 'little stitchers' group.  It's going to be for some special projects I have planned and goodness, the felt is so beautiful.  If you're after a really lovely wool blend felt then I'd definitely recommend stocking up on some.

There are some lovely new goodies in Gail's Etsy store that I discovered today - loving the mini Christmas bunting.

Bella made a house after school today for her new mouse, it's pretty cute - just had to share :)

Here comes the rain

A dreary old day today and now the rain looks like it's going to continue through the night.  We put up the camper in the backyard on Monday for James and Bella to have school holiday sleep overs in.  It's choc-o-block full of Easter eggs, bedding, drink bottles and many small treasures they have both carted out there to fill in their camping hours with.  I'm now hoping the rain stops soon so we can dry it out and fold it down.  I'm sure they'll both be loving the pitter patter of rain drops on the canvas tonight though:

Something fun arrived in my mailbox yesterday - a rabbit hat for Blythe from THIS Etsy store. I love Etsy, don't you?  I have a million things saved in my favourite folder from there....now I just need to win tattslotto so that I can purchase them all!

To fill in the hours we've been creating a few new projects.  James has been working on his warhammer models, Bella has started a new knitting project, Rich is still doing our kitchen bench tops in his spare hours and I've just started playing with some yummy Basic Grey fabric from Quilt Fabric Delights. 

 

We've also been spending some time looking at this gorgeous Charley Harper book, fast becoming our favourite.  The illustrations are soooo yummy.
