Playing with new toys is always a lot of fun and last week I had a lovely time playing with a Sony Ultrabook, while I blogged and surfed the internet. Sadly it was just on loan to me so I could give it a whirl and see what I thought - it might just have stayed with us if it was here this week as the fan on my usual laptop has died!!
The first time I came across an Ultrabook was a few weeks ago when I saw an advertisement on t.v. for one. I thought to myself at the time that it seemed very cool and it is. Just like in the video clip above, the Ultrabook Convertible changes from being a laptop to a tablet whenever you want it to.
To convert the Ultrabook from laptop to tablet you simply slide the screen while holding the sides - it's easy peasy. They're pretty light in weight too which makes them nice and easy to carry around, plus they'll fit happily into any handbag that will hold an A4 notebook.

Now, the big boys of this house are always complaining that my current laptop is really s-l-o-w with loading and searching - well the Ultrabook kept them very happy!! It has an Intel processor and goodness, they have VERY fast operating speeds, which sadly did put my own laptop to shame.

Because we like to head off camping every once in a while, battery life on any portable computer is a feature that we always look for. I know it's great to get away from technology while we're camping and we usually do, but sometimes when it's raining and we've all had enough of board games and/or crafty time, I'll type up a blog post and the kids will watch a movie or two on my laptop. The Ultrabook will let you get through 3 (yes, three!) movies before the battery needs recharging. That's definitely a win/win for our family.
Another feature that I noticed on the Ultrabook was that the graphics are really clear and colours while I was surfing the web are beautiful and vibrant. Bella took about 100 photos on the laptop (mainly selfies!) and the quality was spot on.
Oh and for the tech savvy people out there that might be wondering - it runs on Windows* 8 and has anti-theft technology built in to keep all your important documents and information safe.
{Blogging and being cosy - a must do!}
I'll be back with part two of the Ultrabook Convertible review next week and of course they'll be lots of crafty blog posts in-between :)
