See those sweets? There were two glass containers in the day hut where we camped, filled to the brim with lollies for guests to enjoy. When you're little, finding complimentary sweets in the day hut is possibly the most wonderful thing about camping.
Oh, and here's that amazing day hut:
Complete with freezer, fridge, kitchen sink, lounges, barbecue, desk, books, magazines, games and all sorts of other goodness.
On the opposite end of the camp ground we discovered a sofa - for sitting, stopping and just watching the river go by.
The drop toilets were the best drop toilets I've stumbled upon so far. Seriously. There were spare toilet rolls, fresh air spray, hand sanitiser, a coat hook and a big tub of sawdust to minimise the toilet smell.
Our two spent many an hour down by the river - pottering, splashing, submerging and hoping to see the pesky eel that we read about in the guest book. They didn't.
There was a whole heap of bike riding too - up and down the gravel roads, around the camp ground and across the paddock. So happy we packed their bikes for our getaway.
Camp fire moments - there were lots of those and many other memories made...
Hours were spent doing nothing but talking, giggling, connecting and enjoying. Just the way camping should be.
P.S. There will be a mini splurge of camping posts over the next day or so - crafting included, of course.
