I'm repurposing a pillow today - super easy and a great way to pretty up an old pillowcase that's hiding in your cupboard. You'll need the following:
- ♥ Sewing machine, pins, scissors
- ♥ 2 inch hexagon templates (buy or print online)
- ♥ Fabric scraps - I used some squares from a charm square pack, which were the perfect size.
- ♥ A pillow
Step 1: Whip up a batch of 2" hexagons. You'll need to use the template and work out how many you will need for the project.
Step 2: Position the hexagons on the pillow as you go, working out a happy colour placement for them.
Step 3: Hand stitch the hexies together, forming 2 lines.
Step 4: When you have enough hexagons all stitched together, position and pin them onto the pillow.
Step 5: Snip off the excess pieces of hexagon that will sit on the edge of the pillow, leaving a small section for hemming.
Step 6: Turn the raw edge under on the trimmed hexagons and pin into position.
Step 7: Machine stitch around the edge of the hexagons to finish off the pillow. It was slightly tricky to get the sewing machine into the very top and bottom edge of the pillow, but it was doable with a little fiddling.
Ta-da! Your pillow has a new lease of life.
