A couple of weeks ago I signed Bella up for the second round of the modern Blythe lovers swap on Flickr. Basically you are assigned a swap partner and then you make/buy 3 Blythe related items for them. It's an adults only swap, so I'm doing all the making/buying for our swap partner and another adult will be making/buying for Bella.
Before signing up I had in my mind to make a Blythe quilt for our partner and was actually quite looking forward to sitting and stitching it all together. I settled on a hexagon quilt and spent one night cutting and tacking all the hexies together and the following night stitching them all together - 35 in total. It took several hours all up, but I'm really pleased that I persevered and kept stitching.
Next up was trimming and machine quilting. I mimicked the hexagon design with my quilting and then added the binding. I really hope our swap partner likes it, I always feel a little bit nervous when sewing for other people.
While we're on the subject of Blythe dolls, I'm going to pop back a little later in the evening and share our Blythe dolly house extension (part 1) with you all.
