After watching my girl make her fabric hexagon tutorial yesterday, I felt the need to stitch up some of my own hexagons last night. Do you remember my spring cushion? Well, my Mum and I are doing a little hex-along together and we're both hoping going to complete a new cushion out of hexagons. Mine is going to match the spring cushion that I made, using the Botany range of fabric.
We're supposed to be only stitching hexagons on a Wednesday, but Mum cheated and sewed up a heap on Monday and so I was also naughty and have been sewing them last night and this afternoon. But, the main thing is that we're working towards the 100 or so that we'll need for a cushion. They're quite addictive once you get going.
Every Wednesday (on the blog) I'm going to be sharing our progress with you all. If you feel like joining Mum and I on our hex-along, then please do! We'd love to see your progress photos too - just leave a comment on my blog linking your hexie photos each week and I'll link you in my Wednesday blog posts :)
Although we're starting with a cushion, my dream goal is to complete a hexagon quilt one day. Mum actually made a double bed hexagon quilt when I was small - 3 years in the making - but all that work was worth it, it's just beautiful.
Here are some hexagon tutorials for you, incase you'd like to play along:

I'll be back tomorrow, but right now I have hexagons to stitch!
