I woke up at 7am this morning (that's super early for me on a Saturday) and heard the sound of rain bucketing down on the roof. I decided to get up, eat breakfast, shower, have an early morning blog read and then have a think about my day. The rain was still going strong at this stage (pretty much has kept up all day) and everybody was still soundly sleeping.
It was inevitable that today was going to be a inside day, so I talked myself into actually finishing James' crochet blanket. 7 hours later and 8 months in the making, it was done
As I crocheted that last stitch on the blanket an amazing feeling of accomplishment came over me - for a while there I wasn't sure if I would ever complete such a big project.
I wanted something boyish for the edging, so I went with Lucy's bobble-shell edging pattern and although you can't really see from the photo, it's just lovely - sweet little bobbles all the way along. It certainly ate into my yarn, but it's an edging that I'd definitely do again.
Incase you're thinking that the stripes should be sitting horizontally across the bed, the vertical lines were a request from James.
So, that's one blanket down and one to go. Hooray for me actually completing a huge project, I'm feeling pretty happy with myself today.
