In-between the holiday crafting that's been going on here this last week, I took some time out to sew up some goodies for our new Geocaching hobby. They were fun and easy to make - a swag bag to hold our treasure for exchange and a first aid bag to keep sunscreen, bandaids, insect repellent & ointment in.
I used THIS lovely post over at Salt Water Kids for my inspiration, creating our goodies out of denim and fabric. I used a felted wool sweater to cut out the first aid cross and letters.
We have a small sized backpack that we keep these two bags in, plus our hats, drinks and a spare pen.
I also made a second first aid bag for Bella's friend, Emily and her brother Jasper to share when they go Geocaching.
We popped out today to take Bella's friend home and stopped off to find a couple of caches along the way. Bella thought the vintage cache tin (below) was pretty cool and can you see the Sleeping Beauty mountain in the background? If you look hard you can see Sleeping Beauty asleep on her back - can you make out her nose, lips, eyes, eyebrows and chin? I used to find this mountain fascinating when I was small.
Oh, and our sweet boy turns 15 (eeeek!) tomorrow and upon request I'm baking him a rainbow cake - apparently he doesn't want it for the rainbow, it's the copious layers of frosting and cream that he's after!
Well, I hope your weekend is a lovely one. Thank you for all your generous Geocaching goody ideas too, I loved reading them all. xoxo
