This delightful book (One-metre Wonders) arrived in my mail box last week and I was hooked from the moment I pulled it out of the package. There are 101 sewing projects inside, including all of the full sized patterns. I must say that I sometimes put off making something from a book if the pattern needs to be enlarged. Is it just me or do other people find it a pain to take it into the copier centre?
I have quite a few projects book marked to make, but on the top of my list was the delightful peg bear pattern by Jhoanna from One Red Robin.
It was a lovely pattern to sew and a really gorgeous size too - these peg bears are 42cm high! The floral one above is for Bella's best friend, for her birthday in November.
This funky green fellow is for my nephew (Oscar) for Christmas. I didn't have any of the plastic safety eyes that were suggested in the pattern, so I just used black buttons.
I'm sewing up a third one tonight too, which I'll share soon. It feels good to have started my Christmas making too! Now I just need to think of something else cute to pop with the peg bear for Oscar.
P.S. One-Meter Wonders is available 25 October 2010.
