I'm really quite wrapped with myself for finishing the blanket so soon and I can see it's going to be very well utilised this summer, for the local beach and in our backyard. The beautiful vintage thrifted fabrics were kindly sent to me in December by the lovely Sara - who is one half of the Kindred Crafters blog. I did have some other thrifted sheets here that I was also going to use for the top of the blanket, but Sara's looked so perfect together that I decided to just go with them. Besides, now every time we use the blanket I can dream about the origins of the fabric and what stories they all have to tell from the other side of the world.
Sara - if you're reading I haven't forgotten your package :-)
Bella was most interested in how the blanket was going to be sewn together and which rectangles were going where, but pretty soon she set up a little crafty corner in my bedroom and worked on her own project, a mini felted garland.
