Kittyrobot giveaway.

A little while ago the lovely Jodie from Kittyrobot asked if I would like to have a play with some of their divine handmade buttons.  Ofcourse I said yes - they're totally gorgeous!!  I was really spoilt with an awesome selection that arrived through the week and have been busy thinking up a few different projects that I'd like to create using the buttons.

My first project was a denim scarf for Bella's new blythe doll, Ruby.  I used strips of denim, machine stitched in red, frayed all the edges back to the stitching and then sewed on a Kittyrobot mushroom button to each end.  The mushrooms are so sweet and Bella was wrapped that I had made something for Ruby.

I also made something else teeny for Ruby's arrival - her own needle case book.  I used one of Kittyrobot's Babushka nesting doll buttons for this project.  The Babushka button is one of my most favourite buttons!!

You can also buy the buttons without the holes, which is a cool idea for scrapbooking/card making projects.

Now, for the fun bit!!  Kittyrobot are about to celebrate their 2nd birthday in August and as a special give away I have a selection of their buttons for you. 

There are a couple of mushrooms, a babushka dolly, an owl, round buttons, cupcake, two sweet birds and some darling deers in frames.

Gnome hats.

I've been busy knitting up a couple of little hats ready for Bella's Blythe doll arrival, using the right ply wool this time!  The pattern was a freebie from Ravelry and very easy to follow.  HERE is the link for the pattern (you will need to be a Ravelry member).

I've also popped another washing day set in my Etsy store.

The last four days have been a mini whirlwind of sickness.  James had a mid term break from school on Thursday and Friday just gone, but spent most of that time asleep on the couch.  He's feeling much better, other than a slightly sore ear and a shocking cough.  On Sunday Bella started to feel sick too and spent the afternoon also snoozing on the sofa.  Today she's still unwell but her temperature has eased. 

At least the weather at the moment is keeping us indoors anyhow!  I'm trying to knit another hat (the right size this time!) ready for the arrival of our Blythe doll.

A new beanie.

Miss Annabell has a new winter beanie!  I knitted this up last night and although it was initially going to be for Bella's first Blythe doll (that's winging it's way to us from Hong Kong as I type), I read the pattern incorrectly in my tired state and knitted it up in about a 12 ply instead of the 4 ply required (doh!).

I added the pom pom and blanket stitch for extra cuteness and Annabell is quite happy anyhow because it matches her knitted jacket perfectly.

Medical bag.

When Bonnie comes to visit every Thursday, playing doctors and nurses with Bella is high on her priority list.  Our medical bag was starting to look a little old and stained, so I decided it was time for a new one.  I embroidered the cross yesterday on some calico and sewed up the bag last night.

Now I just need to wait for next Thursday to roll around so I can see if Bonnie approves :)

Happy gloves :)

My happy gloves book arrived in the post today.  It's gorgeous! 

That's my sweet niece checking out the book.  She was so cute when it arrived, looking through it all and saying 'this is your special book isn't it Lissa?  Excuse me Lissa, are you going to make me something from your special book?' 

I also have a new photo of the Winsome Willow Blythe doll that most of you found a little scary - she looks much prettier with teal eyes don't you think?  She also has a fringe (bangs) in this pic.  Thankyou to my Blythe doll advisor (Jodie) for sharing the photo with me!  Today I also learnt that they come with four eye colours and you pull a string to change the colour - very cool hey!  Bella wants one so badly - so we're saving up together.

 

And last photo today, 5 freshly sewn mini quilt sets that I just popped in my Etsy store to replenish the sold ones.
