Home made dishwashing liquid. It smells beautiful, fresh and looks very cute in this recycled milk glass bottle (Sassafras Lass cardstock sticker & Hero Arts stamps). I've done 3 washes with it and although I was initially concerned about the no-suds factor (because I love bubbles for washing up) it has grown on me this afternoon and I'm 99.9% sure that I'll continue to use it. I think once I do a nice greasy pots and pans washing up load I'll know exactly how well it holds up.
3 tbs organic liquid castile soap
2 cups warm water
2 tsp vegetable glycerine
2 tbs white vinegar or lemon juice (I used freshly squeezed lemons for my batch)
10 drops lemon essential oil
Mix thoroughly in a clean jar or bottle, and use 1 tbs at a time.
I found the recipe here. The ingredients I bought from here.
I've been feeling very domestic this last week, so I stewed up some apples and bottled them. Perfect to grab last minute and use to whip up an apple crumble.
Oh and these little treasures - homemade wagon wheels. Mine definitely didn't come out nice and attractive like the shop bought ones (I had some issues getting the organic chocolate on nice and smooth lol) but they sure do taste yummy. My sister Beth told me about these, she used to make them years ago.
Begin with your round biscuits and add a dash of raspberry jam to one of the biscuits. Place a marshmellow on top of this and another biscuit lid.
Pop in the microwave until the marshmellow melts (I did mine for about 20 seconds). Sit aside to set.
Then dip in melted chocolate. Next time I'm just going to spread some chocolate over the top and then once they're set, flip them over and coat the other side (not worrying about the sides). I've also had some requests not to include jam next time - but I loved the jam myself.
Yes I know - the chocolate looks tragic....but they taste so good :))
I have a million things to blog about - James and Bella both received their beautiful sewing kit swaps, I'll share photos in the next post :)
