Welcome to the first swap that I'm putting together. The response has been overwhelming! I was hoping to have at least 5 or 6 people interested and all up there have been about 40 responses via email and here on my blog. Hopefully if this runs relatively smoothly I can run many more swaps here over time :)
Okay here are the swap rules, etc...
*This swap is all about putting together a children's sewing kit and sending it to your swap partner's child/children. The kit might include a variety of items suitable for a first time sewer. Ideas could include - making a small draw string bag or tote to hold the sewing items, fabric swatches or larger pieces, embroidery cottons, ribbon, ric-rac, buttons, felt squares, a little measuring tape, needles, pins, needle holder etc... If anybody has any other ideas of things that could be included please post your ideas here :)
*The package will need to be in the mail to your partner's child/children by Friday 1st August.
*To sign up please send me an email (goodsellmx@internode.on.net) with SWAP in the title before this Saturday. I will close the signups on Saturday 12th July (or cap them at around 40 children so I'm not too stressed with emailing etc.. so email me asap if you would like to play). Please include the following in your email (so I can forward it onto your swap partner) -
- Your name, mailing address, blog address (if you have one).
- Name and age of the child/children that we'll be making the package for. If you have more than one child that you would like included that's fine too - it just means you'll be putting together more than one package to send out. If you are joining up a couple of children to the swap I'll try and match you with a similar household to cut down on postage costs, but please bear in mind that this might not happen, but I'll do my best :)
- Please state in the email if you would prefer to swap with someone in your own country or whether you would be happy to post out world wide :)
- If there is any other info that you would like to pass onto your swap buddy (ie - no knitting items please, child's favourite colour is... ) please include that in the email too.
That's it - yay! Most importantly have fun - I know I've got one little girl here that's going to be checking the letterbox madly waiting for her package, she was already asking tonight if I thought her sewing kit might arrive tomorrow lol.
