Vintage jacket
My Mum knitted this jacket for Bella out of an old knitting book that she'd had from many years ago. I'm really in love with it! Bella picked out the pattern herself and originally wanted a charcoal coloured wool, but Mum and I talked her into red.
It's actually more of a deep red, not bright like in the photos - but I don't know how to photoshop etc... to get it the exact shade.
How cute will it be with a little skivvy, denim knee length skirt, stockings and boots?! It's so lovely to have a knitting Mum - I want to be just like her when I grow up :)

Lovely cardigan!! I am pretty sure I had one almost like it when I was litttle. I remember the wrappiness of it and the garter stitch. It's a classic!!!

I think she loves it. I want to be like that too, making stuff for my future kids and their kids. Need to practice now!

That is lovely- it really suits her colouring. My Mum used to knit but her hands are too stiff now. One jumper she made back in the 80s went so big (acrylic) that we had a bet when it was on it's last legs about how many of us could fit in it- 5 giggling and shreiking girls. Happy memories. I hope your daughter has happy memories of her new cardi when she is older.

My Mum also was a beautiful knitter..always pure wool, and we all still have jumpers she made . I have passed on some worn by my children, now being worn by their children.Sadly she passed away last year aged 87 but her legacy lives on.I was never into knitting, preferring embroidery. When I discovered papercraft I realised that I had inherited my Dad's creative gene and hated to follow a pattern.I love your blog and make up many of your ideas and pass them on to my daughters-in-law.Thank you.

Wow! Your mom is AWESOME!!! This is just gorgeous! Now I wish I can knit. I'm just starting to use my sewing machine after seeing your LO with laces and sewing.
The color does look great. Read suits little girls so well and goes with a lot of things. The denim skirt/pants will look so cute. Cute tights, etc. etc. Bella will look like a girl out of a clothing magazine :D

I think that first picture of your Bella is the most rockin' picture of a little girl I've ever seen! She looks spunky, and looks like she loves that cardigan!!

Yes Mel what a clever mum we have! And I'm sure when you grow up...lol! I love the layouts, oh I must join in the card challenges again, I have some lovely little clocks somewhere that fit with the theme! And I love the autumn collage what a brilliant idea.. Also the leaves look great when they are put onto paper then run through the laminator.. makes a nice calendar!
