Ravelry + knitting + Amy Butler + blanket

Yay...I finally joined Ravelry!  If you knit or crochet and aren't a member, go and join up now because it's a really awesome site - so many cool patterns and projects.

Knitting_012Here's a sneak of James' blanket for you Salihan.  Only 10 squares to go I think.

Oh and my new knitting project, a cardigan for myself :)  The pattern is out of The Sublime double knitting book #607.    I'm just doing one collar though and I'll probably just add a normal cuff - not the rolled back one like in the photo.  I'm using Cashmino Heirloom yard (10% cashmere, 55% merino ultra fine 35%microfibre).

Look what arrived in my mailbox too - two new patterns compliments of Amy Butler (thankyou so much!).  I'm dreaming of a laptop now because I love the laptop cover - Bella is dreaming about Mummy making her the mp3 case and I might just do that - after I make the bag for myself ofcourse.  I'm really impressed with the birdie sling - it's very me actually. I love those comfy kind of cosy looking bags.  I might try it out of denim with a touch of red for the top brim and handles.  Don't forget to check out Amy's site and especially the free patterns.  I've finally bought the beads to make the fabric necklace on there, I just need to settle on fabric. Does anybody else have problems deciding which fabric to use for which project?

The blanket is looking good! Only 10 squares to go! How exciting! And those Amy Butler patterns are gorgeous! And even better that they're free!

Do add me in Ravelry. My username is Salihan.

Just out of curiosity, where did you buy your yarn? It sounds so luxurious. The cardigan will be so soft to wear. I've just ordered wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills website for the first time. Supporting local wool and the price is so low too. Fingers crossed that the quality is as good as it's price. Anyway, happy crafting!

Gee you have been very busy :) Glad the blanket is nearly done...look forward to seeing the other things finished as well :)

LOve the bag Mel looks great and that blanket is getting there.take care Kerryxx

all those AMy butler patterns look lovely. I'm hopeless at choosing fabric, I get it all and look at it, and never have time to start.

I love the blanket and I ADORE the purse. You're so talented!

I'm loving all your photos and I just love those Amy Butler patterns. Especially the Lap Top Cover. I'd put it to good use.
Can't wait to see the bag. Looks like the ones Two Little Banchees makes. She has made hers in denim, they look great.

Well done on the blanket Mel it looks fab! And love the colour of your cardi..Oh yes I always have so much trouble deciding what fabric to use! And Mel just remember A Beth has a laptop if you want to practice...lol Just love that sling bag too : )

I'm in love with that birdie sling, I can't wait for the pattern to come out.

James' blanket is looking good! I'm sure you can make it before winter starts. :)

Love the blanket- you must have the patience of a saint.

A couple of the Sublime books have that self-rolling edge on the majority of the patterns. I did the swing coat/cardi 3x but used moss stitch (seed stitch)for the cuffs and welt as I would be fiddling the whole time un-rolling it. That made sure it kept the shape without being "fitted" atthe bottom or cuffs. My latest is an aran, so I kept it traditional.

Mel the blanket looks great, you are so talented.... and how gorgeous does Bella's beanie look. I have the hardest time picking material to use for my bags. I need to get back into it so I can use up what I have and get some new stuff ;o)

Mel, I REALLY want you to be my mama!!!!
